Warner Lawrence Sebren, Sr.
Warner Lawrence Sebren, Sr., 86, of Roanoke Rapids died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.
Mr. Sebren was a native of West Carroll Parish, LA, the son of the late Lawrence Jackson Sebren and Margie Crook Sebren. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Sebren was a retired music minister with 50 years of service with numerous churches.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie D. Sebren; his daughter, Susan S. Evans and her husband, Bill, of Northfield, NJ; two sons, Warner L. Sebren, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Weldon and Thomas V. Sebren and his wife, Beth, of Roanoke Rapids; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Agnes S. Pitzer of Franklinton, LA.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dennis Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
The flag in front of the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Sebren’s service to his country.
